All flow data comes from the USGS Water Services API. The USGS operates over 8,000 stream gauges across the United States providing real-time data.

CFS stands for cubic feet per second — the standard unit for measuring river discharge in the United States. One cfs equals about 7.48 gallons per second.

What do the status badges mean?

HIGH = flow is more than 150% of the 30-day average. LOW = less than 50% of average. NORMAL = between 50-150% of average.

Can I use this for flood warnings?

Our site provides informational data only. For official flood warnings, consult the National Weather Service at weather.gov. Always follow local emergency guidance.
